Ford has retained its top spot in the overall exports of the vehicles. According to reports, the Ford EcoSport has emerged as the most exported passenger vehicle in India for the FY 2017-18. As many as 90599 units of the Ford EcoSport compact SUV were exported between April 2017 to March 2018. The company managed to export 79539 units in 2017 alone and topped the list. The overall exports increased by 13.91 percent in 2018.
While Ford attained the first position, General Motors occupied the second position by exporting 83,140 units of Beat hatchback. Meanwhile, Volkswagen dropped one position and occupied the third position when compared to the previous fiscal and exported 77,005 units of the Vento in the Financial Year 2018.
In addition to Ford EcoSport, the Figo and the Figo Aspire also made its mark into the top ten exported vehicles list. While the company exported 61241 units of the Figo with the fourth position, only 29308 units of Figo aspire was exported and placed in the ninth position.
Talking about Hyundai, the company topped the list with the fifth position by exporting 50820 units of Creta. Nearly 44907 units of Hyundai Grand i10 was exported and it occupied the sixth position. Maruti Suzuki has been placed in the 7’th position and 41433 units of Baleno was exported. Interestingly, the Ignis model was placed in the 10th position among the top 10 list with over 22969 units being exported.
In addition to the above-mentioned vehicles, Nissan Sedan occupies the 8th position with over 34075 units exported. The popular omission was that of the Nissan Micra.
