Vodafone Foundation Launches Jaadu Ginni Ka Financial Literacy Program in Gujarat

Vodafone Foundation has launched Jaadu Ginni Ka campaign as part of its financial literacy program in a bid to build a financially inclusive nation. The initiative was launched by Smt. Anarben Patel, Social Activist, and Founder Gramshree, on the eve of Gujarat Sthapna Diwas.

The main purpose of the Jaadu Ginni Ka is to empower people to make financially sound decisions in order to enhance their quality of life. The Vodafone Foundation is gearing up to reach out to nearly one crore Indians by 2020 to support government’s vision of financial inclusion.

As part of the Jaadu Ginni Ka, you will learn the real-world topics such as Basic Financial Concepts, Borrowings, Investments, Financial Planning including the usage of the use of the mobile app. The Vodafone Foundation is planning to launch an exclusive mobile app for the Jaadu Ginni Ka, which will be implemented and monitored by officials under the supervision of District Panchayat Ahmedabad.

Commenting on the development, Anarben Patel, Chief Guest disclosed that safeguarding against financial frauds and leveraging technology to access financial services are two of the most important interventions needed at this point in time. The initiative will create an awareness of various aspects of Financial Literacy which would be implemented by partners such as Learning Links Foundation.

Responding to media, P. Balaji, Director – Regulatory, External Affairs & CSR, Vodafone India Ltd revealed that India is on the route to becoming a digital-first nation and the financial literacy is the need of the hour. The program will educate citizen to lead a financially dignified life by making correct choices.

The main focus is to provide contextual and customized financial literacy content to the population at the bottom of the pyramid. The company is delighted to kick-start the program from Gujarat and are thankful to the Government for helping us to become a financially inclusive nation.
