Motorola has started to roll out Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Moto Z2 Play smartphone for users based in India. With version number OPS27.76-12-25, the Android 8.0 Oreo update measures around 1GB in weight. In addition to the full-blown Oreo, the latest update also ships with Android security patches.
After the installation of the Android 8.0 Oreo update, you will be able to take advantage of all the features included with the new Android operating platform. You will be able to work with picture-in-picture mode, which enables you to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
The Android Oreo also brings in advanced features such as background limits, 60 new emojis, notification dots, ability to snooze notifications, keyboard navigation including adaptive icons.
Before proceeding to install the update, you should establish connectivity with Wi-Fi and charge the Moto Z2 Play completely. You will automatically receive the update notification within the next few days. You should note that it will take few days for you to receive the update depending on the region due to the nature of the OTA. Alternatively, you can manually check for the presence of the update by navigating to Settings | About Phone | Software Update.

The phone was launched pre-loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat in 2017.
