OnePlus has officially launched the much-awaited OnePlus 6 at a launch event held in London. The device will launch in India on May 17 at 3 PM. The main highlight of OnePlus 6 is the integration of a notch on the front side, which accommodates the front camera, earpiece and proximity sensor. Moreover, the handset is powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor and will be available up to 256GB storage.
Display
The OnePlus 6 is equipped with a large 6.28-inch FHD+ Full Optic AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The resolution of the display is 1080×2280 pixels with 19:9 aspect ratio and an 84 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Performance
Under the hood, the smartphone features a Snapdragon 845 processor, Adreno 630 graphics alongside 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. You will be able to perform a wide range of tasks rapidly because of the powerful chipset and RAM.
Camera
The OnePlus 6 features dual camera sensors comprising of a 16MP primary sensor and 20MP secondary sensor respectively. While the primary 16MP camera offers Sony IMX519 sensor with f/1.7 aperture, the secondary camera is equipped with a Sony IM376K sensor with f/1.7 aperture. Moreover, the primary camera also provides support for OIS, EIS, HDR and Portrait Mode capabilities.
If you are a selfie freak, you can make use of the 16MP front camera, which is flavored with a Sony IMX371 sensor and EIS support. It is also possible to record slow motion videos at 480fps. The integrated AI smart algorithm helps you to experience a depth-of-field effect. The addition of a Face Unlock functionality helps you to unlock the device within 0.4 seconds.
Operating platform
The OnePlus 6 is pre-loaded with OxygenOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. During the launch event, the company disclosed that the new device will receive Android P beta build within the next few days. However, we don’t have an exact timeframe for the availability.
Connectivity
In addition to 4G VoLTE, the OnePlus 6 provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, NFC, GPS, A-GPS including a traditional headphone port. The phone also includes a wide range of sensors including face recognition functionality. The device draws power through the integrated 3300mAh battery with dash charging technology. The phone is resistant to water as well, which is a big advantage.
