HMD Global has raised $100 million in funding in a bid to expand the products and company. The Finland-based company disclosed that the amount will be used to expand the popular Nokia product range. The company has been slowly releasing new devices loaded with Android Oreo.
The reports suggest that the company is gearing up to launch a wide range of new handsets that will most likely be pushed with Android P before the end of 2018.
HMD Global introduced Android smartphone during the sidelines of MWC 2017. The company also launched the conventional version of the Nokia 3310 and it got rave reviews among the community. HMD Global has so far launched 16 smartphones globally. The main aim of the company is to provide pure, secure and updated Android experience that is not available with competing smartphones.
With the latest $100 million funding, the company is currently valued at $1 billion. Based on the trends, we can expect the launch of new smartphones within the next 4 to 5 months. The company will likely unveil new smartphones during the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 to be held in Barcelona.
Commenting on the development, Florian Seiche, HMD CEO and President revealed that the ambition of the company is to deliver excellent smartphones with Finnish touch. Moreover, the company is working hard to recreate the Nokia brand and also to regain trust among customers.
The products are designed to be the top smartphone players around the world. The success of the company after its launch in 2017 motivates the company to produce cool products for the benefit of the community.
