Xiaomi has launched Mi Router 4 in China at CNY 199, which equates to $31. Even though Mi Router 4 is similar to that of the previous counterpart, the router includes four omnidirectional antennae coupled with aluminum-magnesium alloy heat sink. Moreover, the company has integrated a high conductivity thermal paste to enable the router to resist heat.
On the specifications front, the Mi Router 4 is equipped with an MT7621A chipset, 128MB RAM, 128MB of storage with the ability to establish connectivity to up to 128 devices.
On the rear, you will find one WAN and dual LAN ports with cooling vents. The Mi branding is housed on the top paired with LED lights indicating power, WAN and LAN ports respectively.
The Mi Router 4 make use of Gigabit WAN/LAN+2.4G/5G dual-band Wi-Fi. Moreover, the router also provides support for MiNET, which enables the device to establish connectivity easily. You just need to press the MiNET button and the smart devices will be connected to the router without credentials.
The Router 4 also provides support for WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption, wireless access control, intrusion detection, DoS protection, SSID hiding/isolation including access control manager. You will have to pay $50 more than the Mi Router 3 and will be available in China starting May 25 via online and retail stores. Xiaomi will also sell the router via Mi Home Stores.
