Vodafone India Deploys World’s Largest 200G Long-Haul Network in Record Time

Vodafone has announced the deployment of India’s largest 200G long-haul fiber network across 88 cities. The main aim is to strengthen the technological leadership and also to enhance the connectivity. As part of the initiative, Vodafone has installed more than 43,000 kms of 200G long-haul network in 75 days, which is the world’s fastest and biggest optical deployment project.

The 200G long-haul network will enable Vodafone to enhance not only the leading latency performance but also to improve customer experience for mobile and enterprise customers. This is due to the rapid growth in data consumption and adoption of new technologies such as 5G and VoLTE.

Commenting on the development Vishant Vora, Director – Technology, Vodafone India disclosed that consumers and businesses are increasingly demanding flexible, secure and efficient ways to consume data. The long-haul network is a step in the right direction by Vodafone India to provide seamless network and high bandwidth to our consumers.

Vora added that the Ultra Long Haul Fiber Network enable enterprise customers to improve performance monetization and customer experience to a large extent. The company is proud that the team installed the largest 200G network in a record time, which is the fatest in the world.

The 200G long-haul network brings a wide range of capabilities such as Optical Virtual Private Network (OVPN), latency based routing, fiber doctor and T-SDN enabled network used for centralized service visualization.
