BlackBerry has announced a partnership with the Government of Canada to modernize the G7 operations centers during the G7 ministerial meetings and the 2018 G7 Summit. The company has exclusively developed BlackBerry AtHo and have decided to make optimum use of it to modernize the G7 Operations Centers.
The BlackBerry AtHoc is a crisis communication platform, which includes modules for generation of alerts. While the AtHoc Alert is used for mass notification, the AtHoc Collect is mainly used to generate field reports.
As part of the BlackBerry AtHoc, the operations centers are not only able to efficiently mobilize but also secure the flow of critical information. The process involves delivering updates to targeted lists of recipients in real-time.
Commenting on the development, Sanjay Saini, SVP, and GM, BlackBerry AtHoc disclosed that the company is honored to be part of the Government of Canada in a bid to support operation centers. Saini revealed that secure and reliable communications are crucial during crisis time and high-profile event such as the G7 Summit.
The main aim of the BlackBerry AtHoc is to enable real-time information exchange not only across organizations but also people and devices. It provides them with the relevant inputs to make informed and safety-critical decisions. BlackBerry will also showcase innovative solutions at the 2018 G7 Innovation Showcase.
The software developed by BlackBerry is used by many departments and agencies including US Department of Homeland, Security, New Zealand Parliamentary Service and the US Department of Defense.
