OWC has announced a fundraising campaign program in a bid to provide clean water to kids. As part of the 30th-anniversary celebrations, OWC has established a strategic partnership with Splash with a goal to raise $250,000 by the end of 2018 to provide pure water.
The company will issue periodic updates regarding the progress of the campaign including revealing how donations are making a difference in communities. The main aim is to raise $250,000 before December 31, 2018.
According to OWC, all funds raised during the campaign will be used for water, sanitation and hygiene projects in urban poverty region. To attract contributions, OWC will provide a discount coupon to donors that can be redeemed on MacSales.
If you donate $50 to $499, you will receive a coupon for $10 that can be used to purchase products. Moreover, if you contribute $500 and above, you will receive a discount coupon worth $50.
Commenting on the development, OWC Founder and CEO Larry O’Connor disclosed that the company is committed to green practices across the globe. The project is aimed not only to bring clean water but also to improve sanitation to children across the globe. O’Connor added that efforts of the company will impact future generations and also simplify the living style to a great extent similar to that of the Mac products.
In addition to the partnership with Splash, OWC will also support photojournalist and Leica ambassador Florian Wagner’s African Waters 360-degree project. The project involves capturing of 360-degree panoramic images on water and river systems across difficult African terrain via helicopter. The intention of the African Waters 360-degree project is to explore the value of water sources in terms of ecological balance.
