BSNL has launched the plan to compete with the likes of Reliance Jio. Reliance is offering 1.5GB at Rs 399 for 81 days. With the state-owned company ups the ante with 2GB data, it is unlikely that customers will shift focus.
The main reason is that BSNL is offering 3G connectivity while reliance has entered the 4G bandwagon. Reliance has pumped in Live TV with over 600 channels and other related apps, which generates great hype among the customers.
BSNL hasn’t yet introduced apps like the private players. BSNL should launch the 4G service within the next few months. There are reports that the Government-owned company will ditch 4G to pave way for 5G.
