Google Chrome on Android has been reportedly refreshed with a capability to download content via Wi-Fi. The main aim of the feature is to encourage users to read content via offline. The new feature will be introduced in India, Brazil, and Nigeria including 100 other countries. You will be able to download content via Wi-Fi and read them offline when you don’t have a mobile Internet connectivity.
Google has developed the feature in such a way to download articles based on the localized content. The browser will also download content based on the browsing history of the relevant user.
Commenting on the development, Amanda Boss, Product Manager, Offline Chrome for Android disclosed that the company is introducing another way for Chrome on Android users in India and 100 other countries to navigate the web with Chrome. Boss added that users can access the download content even without Internet connectivity. The Chrome will download articles based on the content popular to your location when you are connected to free Wi-Fi.
To work with this feature, you need to update your existing installation of Chrome on your Android device from Google Play Store. If you select the three dots located on the top right-hand side, you will view the option captioned Downloads.
You will be able to access all your downloads from the displayed page. If you select the top arrow on the left side, you will be able to trim the search by various content such as Video, Audio, Images, and Documents.
The interesting point to note is that if you are signed into Chrome, you will be able to access relevant articles based on browsing history. It is possible to work with the downloaded content without an active Internet connection.
