Microsoft has announced the launch of a USB-C dongle using which you can establish connectivity with Microsoft Surface devices. According to reports, you can make use of the dongle with Surface, Surface Pro, and Surface Book devices. The disadvantage is that you can’t work with the dongle with other gadgets that are not branded as Microsoft. You can use the dongle only with Microsoft devices.
The Microsoft Surface USB-C dongle includes a single connector to connect the devices. Moreover, you need to use the bundled AC adapter, which is rated at 25W at 12V. According to Microsoft, the display output and data throughput capabilities are dependent on the USB-C docking product.
The Microsoft Surface USB-C dongle will be available for sale at $79.99 starting June 29. Industry analysts are of the opinion that the cost of the dongle is expensive when compared to Apple dongles. Microsoft should have provided atleast two ports for this price.
