If rumors are to be believed, the third-generation Amazon Echo Dot is expected to release within the next few days. The rumor assumes significance with the images reportedly that of the upcoming Echo Dot surfaced on the web via FrAndroid. Upon inspection of the images, we infer that the next-generation Echo Dot will be wrapped in fabric instead of the plastic in the currently available Echo Dot.
According to reports, the third-generation Amazon Echo Dot will be codenamed as Donut. The design of the speaker will be larger with an improved sound output. We have Google Home Mini and can observe significant improvement in the sound volume when compared with Home Mini. It seems that smart speakers with fabric structure produce a good sound that concealed plastic.
The upcoming Amazon Dot speaker will ship with several buttons such as activation, mute and two volume rocker buttons. There are four microphone holes located adjacent to each button. You will find one button in the center as well for an enhanced recongnition of voice.
Unlike the second-generation Echo Dot, the upcoming variant will most likely ditch the AUX port. The inclusion of the port was one of the major attraction when compared with the rival Google Home Mini. The leaked image reveals a white plastic shell but we expect other colors as well. If Amazon ships the new Dot with fabric casing, then you can expect the same on the bigger Amazon Echo as well.
