BSNL has launched a new recharge package of Rs 171, which provides 60GB of data. If you opt for Rs 171 plan, you will be able to enjoy 2GB data per day for 30 days. Moreover, you will be able to enjoy unlimited calling and SMS with the plan.
The newly introduced Rs 171 plan is currently available in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh segment. However, the unlimited calling is available in all circles including Mumbai and Delhi NCR. You will be charged excess amount if you exhaust 2GB per day. There will be a reduction in the bandwidth speed after the consumption of 2GB data per day.
The important point to note is that state-owned telecom company is offering 2GB and 3GB speeds along with Rs 171 plan. Meanwhile, Reliance Jio is offering 4G LTE connectivity with faster speed but you have to pay a higher amount to the tune of Rs 198. If you are not critical of 4G, then you can opt for Rs 171 plan offered by the BSNL.
BSNL has made significant investments in the upgradation of their mobile networks to counter attacks from competing players such as Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone. The arrival of Jio has totally disrupted the mobile arena since the company offered cheap plans with enhanced speed and offerings such as an exclusive app.
BSNL lacks the provision of apps such as JioTV, which is a live TV streaming service. BSNL should roll out 4G PAN India in order to sustain the competitive mobile market.
