Asus has rolled out a new software update for the flagship Asus ZenFone 5Z smartphone. The new updates bring in significant improvements to enhance the functionality of the handset. After the installation of the software update, you just need to lift to perform face unlock. There is no need to press the power button to wake up the device. Moreover, Asus has integrated gesture controls using which you can control the device.
Asus has done a major overhaul when it comes to the camera functions with the new software update for the Asus ZenFone 5Z. The company has provided support for live filters, RAW files, panorama including automated anti-flicker functionality. The company claims that the handset will detect electricity frequency automatically based on the ambient lighting condition. It will them switch the frequency setting between 50 Hz and 60 Hz to prevent flickering.
Asus has added on/off button in EIS and enabled flash in Pro mode. The update also provides support for EIS feature when capturing FHD videos at 60fps. Moreover, you will find EIS/OIS auto switch feature during video recording. The video recording mode has added automatic overheat detection capability with support for 3-dimensional noise reduction function.
The company has added new improvements to the HDR function with improved manual white balance function in PRO mode. You will also find enhancements in front camera alongside boosting of audio quality in video to 192kbps bitrate.
Asus has pushed the update via OTA. Hence, it will take a few days for the new software update to reflect on the device. Alternatively, you can manually check the presence of the update by navigating to the Settings menu. Before proceeding to install the update, it is advisable to activate Wi-Fi and charge the device up to 100 percent to avoid disruption.
