Microsoft To Push Windows 10 October 2018 Update With Improved Features: IFA 2018

Microsoft has announced the release of a new update which will be named as Windows 10 October 2018 Update. Touted as Redstone 5, the Windows 10 October 2018 Update will ship with several new features and improvements. According to reports, the new update will be made available to over 700 million devices running Windows 10.

During the Keynote address at IFA 2018 in Berlin, the Redmond-based software giant demonstrated several Windows PCs reportedly with the upcoming Windows 10 October 2018 Update. The devices include Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1, Acer Predator Triton 900, Yoga Book C930, Lenovo Yoga C630 among others.

Windows 10 October 2018 Update features

Even though the company hasn’t revealed the list of new features, the rumors suggest that the Windows 10 October 2018 Update will provide support for Dark Mode in File Explorer. The Dark Mode will be available on File Explorer, File Explorer context menu, and Common File Dialog menu. You will find the setting by navigating to Settings | Personalisation | Colours.

Cloud Clipboard

The Windows 10 October 2018 update will most likely ship with a new Cloud-based Clipboard, which can be invoked by the shortcut keys Win + V. The new Clipboard will automatically sync with Timeline and Sets. Microsoft is gearing up to refresh Search module by adding previews. You will be able to jump into and view progress including details of each file. You can also ask questions with the search preview mechanism.

The forthcoming Microsoft Windows 10 October 2018 update will provide an ability to name tile folders by expanding the relevant folders with tiles. You will be able to view the names in wide, medium or large-sized view. The update will also ship with significant improvements related to Bing, Cortana, and Windows Shell.

Refreshed Notepad

The browser tabs will be displayed in ALT+TAB mode via Microsoft Edge. You will be able to choose whether websites and apps should open in new Windows or tabs with the ability to mute relevant Sets tabs. A new PDF reader will be integrated with the Windows 10 October 2018 update. Moreover, you can expect an updated Notepad with several features. You can also expect the addition of features such as Fast Sign-in alongside advanced biometric options.
