Apple Watch will launch with always-on display, confirms patent

Apple is gearing up to launch the next edition of the Apple Watch. According to the latest patent reports, the upcoming Apple Watch will ship with an integrated incoming always-on display. If Apple watch gets support for incoming always-on display, then you can view the time without activating the display.

Apparently, the Apple watch comes with an OLED display and it provides support for this feature. However, the company hasn’t included this feature because of reasons unknown to us. It remains to be seen as to whether the Cupertino-based giant will push an update of incoming always-on display for all the previous models.

In the latest patent application, Apple has revealed that the company is hesitant to integrate always-on display because of OLED issues and problems related to the battery.

This feature will likely consume heavy battery but it can be solved by switching to a dimmer grayscale mode when you are not working with the watch. This technique will save a considerable amount of battery. The display problem is due to the fact that the pixels are placed in the same array for a considerable amount of time.

Upon examination of the new Patent, we can infer the appearance of a new anti-aliasing technique. The purpose of this feature is to enable the content to fit on both sides of the display. We can expect a curved large display along with the upcoming Apple Watch Series 4. According to reports, the company will most likely launch Apple watch with an always-on display on September 12.
