If you are using Windows 7, you can cheer because Microsoft has extended the Windows 7 security for all users who have installed the operating system until January 2023. The catch is that you will have to pay to avail the security of the systems and is applicable only for those users running Windows 7 corporate and institutional customers.
You can continue to work with Windows 7 and opt for Windows 7 security updates by paying a fixed amount until January 2023. The move will largely benefit Windows 7 users but won’t affect Windows 10 deployments since they are preferred by customers.
Commenting on the development, the Redmond-based software giant disclosed that users who try to secure the Windows 7 operating systems will have to pay an expensive amount. The company has introduced Extended Security Updates (ESU), which will increase every year from 2020 to 2023. The essence is that the longer you use the older operating system, the security updates will cost more.
Microsoft also introduced cloud-based analytics tools with app compatibility for upgrades to simplify the transition process for companies who upgrade to Windows 10 and Office 365 ProPlus. The Windows 7 is one of the best operating systems Microsoft has ever produced with excellent stability. The platform is still running on several PCs and laptops.
