Amazon Pay has launched card-less Amazon Pay EMI for select Amazon customers. The e-commerce giant has launched the program on an invitation basis and the customers will have to complete a simple two-step registration process to obtain an assigned credit limit. The customers can make use of the limit to purchase high valued purchases on Amazon marketplace with the help of Amazon Pay EMI.
According to Amazon, customers without having access to credit will find difficult to afford high valued purchases and hence they often delay the purchase. With the help of card-less Amazon Pay EMI, Amazon Pay will reach out to customers who do not have access to credit cards and other consumer lending solutions. The aim is to help customers to buy high-value products in installments during the upcoming festive season.
As part of the initiative, Amazon Pay has established a partnership with Capital Float to design and enable Amazon Pay EMI facility for select customers. The Amazon Pay EMI provides instant financing options to customers up to Rs 60000 by splitting their purchases into installments at low-interest rates.
If you are invited by Amazon, you should first register for the Amazon Pay EMI credit facility on the Amazon Pay homepage and complete the formalities by providing PAN and KYC details. There is no need to upload any documents. Amazon will provide credit limit up to Rs 60000 and the interest will be charged only when customers make a purchase with the assigned credit limit. Amazon is not charging any processing fees from customers.
As a customer, you will have an option to configure auto repayments for hassle-free repayment of their monthly installments. You will be able to track their EMI order history, repayment history, and pending dues through Amazon Pay homepage.
Commenting on the launch, Vikas Bansal, Director, Emerging Payments, Amazon revealed that the company has always been focused on making shopping truly affordable for masses online. Moreover, the retailer is on a mission to enable credit access for every Amazon customer. The Amazon Pay EMI is a hassle-free way of availing instant credit for customers who don’t have access to credit. Bansal added that they are excited to introduce this technology ahead of the upcoming festive season.
If you have shopped on Amazon, you should check out for your Amazon Pay EMI invite within the next few days. The invite will have an offer to avail No Cost EMIs on 3 and 6-month tenures.
