Amazon has globally released Echo Dot (3rd Gen) with improved features and specifications and is available for pre-order in India at Rs 4499. We were greeted with the display of pictures of all the newly launched Echo devices.
As rumored previously, the Echo Dot (3rd Gen) is enclosed with a fabric casing instead of plastic in the 2nd generation Echo Dot speaker. The product will be released on October 11 but you can pre-order the product today itself for Rs 4499. Unfortunately, Amazon is not offering any special offers for the Echo Dot (3rd Gen) smart speaker.
The Echo Dot (3rd Gen) works similar to that of the 2nd generation but the latest model ships with an improved speaker system with a new design. The smart speaker establishes connectivity with Alexa cloud-based service to fetch news, music playback, weather management, reminder setting and much more.
The Echo Dot (3rd Gen) is also capable of streaming music via Amazon Prime Music, Saavn, and TuneIn. You just need to configure the music services and the system will play the relevant track. Moreover, you can playback music content directly from the Amazon Prime Music app.
The addition of 4 far-field microphones helps the Echo Dot to work even under extreme noisy environments. Moreover, the Echo Dot (3rd Gen) can also manage a wide range of smart home appliances. It is also possible to establish connectivity via Bluetooth or AUX cable. The availability of extensive Alexa skills helps you to extend the usage of the smart speaker.
The Echo Dot (3rd Gen) is equipped with a 1.6-inch speaker with support for Alexa calling. The speaker size is comparatively larger than the previous counterpart. The speaker is available for pre-order on Amazon at Rs 4499 and will ship starting October 11, 2018. Incidentally, the date coincides with the Amazon Great Indian Sale, which is expected to start on October 10.
