Microsoft has rolled back the Windows 10 October 2018 Update aka version 1809 from the Microsoft download portal and Windows Update site. The main reason for the rollback is due to some critical errors and bugs reported by users. The OTA rollout has been suspended and the Windows team is currently investigating the problems faced by users.
It is being reported that users have noticed that few files were found to be missing after the completion of the update. Moreover, users reported data loss of their own personal files, which is unusual in the case of updates. The user took to Reddit and revealed that he is unable to locate the files after the update. This has been followed by other users who also took to social media and reported the missing files issue after upgrade to Windows 10 October 2018 Update.
That said, only a few Windows users are facing the problem since the company took appropriate action immediately after the reporting. Otherwise, the casualty would have been larger. As of this writing, the Windows 10 October 2018 Update is not officially available for download from any sources. We don’t have any confirmation as to when the Redmond-based software giant will restore the update process.
