Windows 10 October 2018 Update Throws Blue Screen of Death

Microsoft has disclosed that the Windows 10 product team has fixed all the bugs and issues associated with Windows 10 October 2018 Update. After holding the update for a while, the Redmond-based tech giant has started to push new updates. However, few users have reported that they are experiencing Blue screen of death after the installation of Windows 10 October 2018 Update aka Windows 10 1809 Build 17763.55. There are reports that only those users who work with HP laptops and desktops are facing this problem.

Previously, users who have installed Windows 10 October 2018 Update have started to wipe the data after the installation of the first update. The company released Windows 10 KB4464330 1809 Build 17763.55 with several bug fixes and enhancements. A new bug has been traced by which caused Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) on several HP computers, laptops and tablets.

A user took to Microsoft forum and revealed that an HP EliteDesk 800 G3 declined to boot after the installation of the update. There are users who have been posting on social media that the new update is seriously causing BSOD issues. A test conducted by a popular tech portal indicated that the KB4462919 is causing all HP systems to BSOD without any ability to perform system restore process. Interestingly, the BSOD error got vanished upon deleting an HP driver with the file name HpqKbFiltr.sys.

As a reputed company, Microsoft should release fool proof updates and hope that an update will resolve all problems. The product team should be careful while delivering the update because it’s the users who are facing the problem and will indirectly affect the reputation of the company.
