BSNL has signed a MoU with Nokia Solutions and Networks India Pvt Ltd for the launch of Industry 4.0 technology. According to BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava, the company will approach various industries for the implementation of Industry 4.0 in India.
The term Industry 4.0 indicates the next level of automation in the manufacturing segment. The machines will not only be smart but also share data, IoT including cloud computing. Shrivastava also revealed that the company has taken several initiatives for the launch of 5G services in India by 2020 with Nokia Solution emerging as the key partner. The introduction of Industry 40 will immensely benefit 5G.
BSNL has invested Rs 35000 crore for the rollout of 4G services and the state-owned company is expecting additional investment for 5G services. The Nokia solutions plant in India, which completed the production of four million units will take advantage of AR and VR including connected robotics, AI, Big Data analytics including IoT.
According to Nokia Solution, they have deployed the network using its micro core network and multi-access edge computing platform. It delivers edge cloud capabilities in such a way to process data closer to end users. Moreover, you will be able to experience lower latency.
If there are problems during the production or deployment stage, they are alerted immediately to solve the issues. The company sources revealed to us that they have started to ship out 5G enabled telecom equipment to the US, Asia Pacific, Europe, and other places.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Malik, Vice President and Head of the Indian Market at Nokia disclosed that the standardisation of 5G technology will be ready by the first quarter of the next year. Malik added that the 5G implementation will be ready by the middle of next year.
