Microsoft has redesigned Office icons on Windows. The Redmond-based software giant has updated the Office icons five years back. Upon inspection of the new design, we infer that the icons reflects not only seamless but also the collaborative nature of Office 365.
While the Excel icon has been modified into a rectangular shape, the PowerPoint bears a circular pie chart. Meanwhile, the Outlook carries a mail envelope as its official icon. The rectangular shape of the Excel icon reflects the nature of the spreadsheets.
According to company sources, the newly designed Office icons will be made available to the apps and the web within the next few days. Microsoft has only changed the icons and this means there will be no improvements when it comes to the performance.
