Vodafone and Sony Pictures have joined together to announce a landmark global Digital Skills collaboration. The initiative will enable millions of young people in 20 countries to identify their skills and find digital jobs that match them. The Digital Skills program will make use of December’s hotly anticipated movie release Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse to introduce young people to Vodafone’s free Future Jobs Finder. It is a gamified digital platform to help people to understand their skills and future career opportunities.
The Digital Skills initiative has been developed as part of Vodafone’s global program, which will provide support to over 10 million young people to access digital skills, learning and employment opportunities by 2022. The program will empower youth as they embrace the digital transformation and chart a digital career.
Commenting on the development, Andre Seddoh, Vice President International Marketing Partnerships at Sony Pictures disclosed that the company is excited about the visually groundbreaking movie Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.
The company is introducing Brooklyn teenager Miles Morales, who like many young people preparing to leap into the next stage of their lives. Moreover, they are struggling to find out who he is and what he is meant to be. Seddoh added that the partnership with Vodafone will help them to engage with audiences using the inspirational power of this game-changing movie. It also helps them to connect young people with digital jobs and free digital skills training.
Responding to media, Joakim Reiter, Director of External Affairs at Vodafone Group added that the ambition is to help 10 million young people to access digital skills, learning and employment opportunities. The collaboration with Sony Pictures will help them to accelerate the progress towards the goal by bringing our digital platform, Future Jobs Finder to young people who would like to think about the digital career.
Future Jobs Finder has been specifically designed to help young people to establish a connection between their skills and digital careers they may never have thought of. The company will be able to harness the power of technology to engage with young people to not only help them realize their potential but also play a role in the selection of the digital skills gap.
The Vodafone’s Future Jobs Finder was launched in March 2018 and more than 300,000 people have found an advantage with the tool. You will have to undertake a series of short tests designed by career experts and training providers. The purpose is to identify the skills and interests. With the help of the platform, young people will be able to find job opportunities in multiple digital industries including access to free digital skills training.
