The company is scheduled to launch the product on Kickstarter on February 26 with exclusive access to the first backers. You can provide your email address and the company will notify you when the product goes live on the crowdfunding platform.
The Cubbit cell can be connected to a router easily. You will receive 500GB of cloud storage immediately using which you can sync and backup your valuable files via not only desktop but also mobile. You can also connect external hard drives to expand the storage up to 4TB. You just need to pay for the Cubbit cell and the system will take care of the rest.
The Cubbit cell provides an ability to open up to 4 independent accounts to enable you to share the content with your friends and colleagues. The files will be stored on the cloud. You would be worried about privacy. You can relax because files are encrypted and split into several chunks. Moreover, the data are distributed safely over the peer-to-peer network. You only have a right to decrypt and access files.
According to company sources, the Cubbit cell is 10x greener than data centers and will reduce the global carbon footprint. The company claims that they have got 2500 pre-orders from 55 countries. The product will launch on Kickstarter starting next week and you will be able to experience the product within 3 months.
