Microsoft has released Windows Server vNext Insider Preview Build 18346. The latest Preview Build 18346 build is available only for Windows server Insiders. Microsoft has added significant enhancements to the Server Core App Compatibility feature on demand (FOD). The module was introduced in Windows Server 2019 and the subsequent Windows Server 1809.
Microsoft had added a Task Scheduler functionality for App Compatibility FOD in the previous Windows Server vNext Insider build 18334. The Windows Server vNext Insider Preview Build 18346 has added Hyper-V Manager (Virtmgmt.msc) module, which enables you to create and connect to Virtual Machines that are hosted on Server Core and the App Compatibility FOD.
The Windows Server vNext Insider Preview Build 18346 also resolves error after you perform remote machine operation with RDP post FOD installation. Moreover, the multiple Active Directory Users and Computers snap-ins are added to the same MMC.exe instance. The new build also resolved several other bugs.
If you are part of the Windows Server Insiders, you can download Windows Server vNext Insider Preview Build 18346 directly from the Windows Insider Preview Downloads page. The Windows Insiders for Business portal helps you to download the updated software bits in case if you are not part of the Windows server Insiders group.
