MWC 2019: Sony Xperia 1 With Snapdragon 855 Launched

Sony has announced the launch of Sony Xperia 1 smartphone along with Xperia 10 and 10 Plus at the MWC 2019. The main highlight of the Sony Xperia 1 is the integration of a display with 21:9 aspect ratio alongside support for 4K HDR display. Moreover, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6, which helps you to prevent scratches.

Display and Performance

The Sony Xperia 1 is equipped with a 6.5-inch (3840×1644, 21:9) 4K OLED HDR display, Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB expandable internal storage loaded with Android 9.0 Pie operating platform. You will be able to extend the storage up to 512GB via microSD card slot.

Camera

The rear side offers three 12MP cameras with support for OIS/EIS, 2x optical zoom including slow-motion recording at 960fps. The company has integrated a 16mm super wide-angle lens, 26mm normal lens, 53mm lens for portrait alongside dual photodiode image sensor and Eye AutoFocus. On the selfie front, the Xperia 1 bears an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens.

Connectivity

In addition to 4G VoLTE, the Sony Xperia 1 provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, MIMO, and other standard sensors. The handset includes USB 3.1 Type-C port, which helps you to quickly charge the device. The handset draws power via the embedded 3300mAh battery, which offers Quick Charge 3.0, Qnovo Adaptive Charging and other power saving capabilities.

Pricing

The Sony Xperia 1 will be available in Black, Purple, Grey, and White color variants at GBP 799. According to sources, the handset will be up for grabs in the US and Europe before the end of April followed by other countries.
