Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the much-awaited Redmi Go smartphone in India at 12 PM. The handset will be launched at an event to be held in New Delhi. If you are unable to attend you can watch the live webcast on YouTube. Tagged with #AapkiNayiDuniya, the Redmi Go will provide support for 20 regional languages. Moreover, the handset will ship with Google Assistant powered by the Hindi language.
The Redmi Go will carry a 5-inch IPS HD display, Snapdragon 425 processor, 1GB RAM, 8/16GB expandable internal storage loaded with Android Oreo operating platform. Like in all other Redmi smartphones, the Redmi Go will also provide a capability to expand the storage.
As the name suggests, the Go phone will be loaded with Android Go on top of Android Oreo. The 1GB RAM will be sufficient because Android Go consumes low power. The handset will also most likely ship with Go versions of several apps. The phone will be useful for senior citizens and others who would like to experience the taste of Android.
In the past, the Android Go enabled smartphones were turned out to be a failure. It remains to be seen as to how the Redmi Go will be a game changer. As we examined before, the handset will be useful for students and others who would like to work with a budget-friendly device.
