Microsoft has announced a new Terminal command-line app for Windows at the Build conference. The main highlight of the Terminal command-line app is the addition of a tabbed interface. With the help of the new Terminal command-line app, developers will be able to access a wide range of tools such as PowerShell, Cmd and Windows Subsystem for Linux shortly called as WSL.
In a bid to enhance the user experience, Microsoft also provided support for tab. You will be able to work quickly with areas using tabs. Some of the other features are emoji support, GUP-based texting including theme customizations.
According to Microsoft, the new command-line app provides not only remote development in the Windows ecosystem for Linux but also containers and virtual machines. The new extension has been designed in such a way that it provides an ability for the developers to enable scenarios on their local instance of VS code.
The Redmond-based software giant is planning to release the Terminal command-line app before the end of June although a preview has been shown during the Build conference.
