Realme X smartphone with notch less display and Android 9.0 Pie launched

Realme has announced the launch of the next-generation flagship Realme X smartphone in China. The main attraction of Realme X smartphone is the integration of a large display alongside Android 9.0 Pie operating platform. The Realme X smartphone will be available in a wide range of color variants and the sale is expected to start in China on May 20.


The Realme X is equipped with a 6.53-inch AMOLED Corning Gorilla Glass 5 display with a massive resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. The display bears an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 paired with 394 PPI. The main highlight of the display is that it is notch less and the selfie camera is embedded with a popup functionality. The fingerprint sensor is integrated on the display because of the adoption of the latest AMOLED technology.


On the internals, the Realme X features a Snapdragon 710 processor, Adreno 616 graphics processor, 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM, 64GB/128GB internal storage loaded with ColorOS 6 on top of Android 9.0 Pie operating platform.

Unlike Realme 3 Pro, you can’t expand the storage in Realme X. While the 4GB and 6GB RAM variants feature 64GB storage, the 8GB RAM model ships with 128GB storage capacity. The smartphone borrows power via the integrated 4045mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging, which is capable of delivering an extended standby time.


The Realme X features dual camera comprising of 48MP (Sony IMX586) and 5MP sensors comprising of f/1.7 and f/2.4 apertures respectively. The camera provides support for PDAF, HDR, gyro-EIS, LED Flash, Dolby Atmos, Hyper Boost 2.0 mode and UFS 2.1 storage technology. If you look at the newly launched OnePlus 7 Pro, the device was shipped with UFS 3.1 technology, which is superior than previous counterparts.

You will be able to shoot 2160P videos at 30fps, while FHD videos can be captured in 30 and 120fps. You can shoot HD videos at 960fps. On the front, the handset offers a motorized pop-up camera with 16MP (Sony IMX 471) sensor paired with f/2.0 aperture. It is possible to shoot FHD video at 30fps.


The 4GB RAM with 64GB storage is priced at CNY 1499, while the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage bears CNY 1599. You can purchase the 6GB RAM model with 128GB storage at CNY 1799. The company also released Realme X Lite starting at CNY 1199 for the 4GB/64GB storage variant. You can also buy 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM models at 64GB and 128GB storage capacities. The company also released Special onion and garlic edition at CNY 1899. The handset will be available for sale in China starting May 20.
