Apple has officially launched a new iPod touch with new features and improvements. The company has designed the device in such a way that it gives optimal listening experience with more goodness. The newly launched iPod touch is available in 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB internal storage variants starting at $199.
The new iPod touch features a 4-inch (1136 x 640, 326 PPI, 800:1, 500 cd/m2) IPS widescreen retina display coupled with Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating. On the internals, the iPod touch is powered by an A10 Fusion Chip, which helps you to get things done quickly.
The rear side features an 8MP camera with f/2.4 aperture, five-element lens alongside hybrid IR filter. The sensor provides support for autofocus, backside illumination, auto image stabilization including HDR functionality. You can shoot panorama images up to 43MP with support for Burst mode and exposure control.
Commenting on the development, Greg Joswiak, VP-Product Marketing, Apple disclosed that the company has released iPod touch as the most affordable iOS device. The new iPod touch is capable of delivering enhanced performance than the current counterpart. Moreover, the new iPod Touch also provides support for Group FaceTime and AR functionalities. Joswiak added that lightweight design of iPod touch is ideal for playing games, music and much more on the go.
With the new iPod touch, you will be able to record FHD videos at 30fps with support for slow-motion video recording at 120 fps. The front side bears a 1.2MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture, HD video recording, auto HDR, burst mode, exposure control including timer mode. The new iPod touch borrows power via the rechargeable battery with the capability to offer up to 40 hours of music playback and up to 8 hours of video playback time.
The new iPod touch comes pre-loaded with iOS 12, which is the secured mobile operating platform. The iOS 12, upgradeable to iOS 13 ships with a wide range of features to simplify your living style. With Apple Music, you can access over 50 million songs with playlists, podcasts and much more.
The iPod touch will be available in Pink, Silver, Space Gray, Gold, Blue, and Red color variants. The 32GB storage model is available at $199 (INR 14000), while the 128GB variant will be up for grabs at $299, which equates to INR 21000. You can purchase 256GB storage model for $399, which will cost your pocket INR 28000. Additionally, the company also provides special AppleCare+ package at $59 (INR 4200), which provides two years of technical support and accidental damage coverage.
