Honor has announced the launch of the two Honor Pad 5 tablets with 8-inch and 10.1-inch displays respectively. The Honor Pad 5 tablet is exclusive to the customers based in India. While the 8-inch Honor Pad 5 is portable, the 10.1-inch tablet will look bigger and can’t be easily transferred from one location to another.
The 8-inch variant of the Honor Pad 5 is integrated with an 8-inch FHD display, Kirin 710 processor coupled with 3GB and 4GB RAM respectively. The 3GB RAM model features 32GB storage, while the 4GB RAM variant offers a 64GB storage.
On the optics front, the rear side offers an 8MP sensor with equal capacity on the front side. The tablet is pre-loaded with Magic 2.0 UI based on Android 9.0 Pie operating platform. The dual stereo loudspeakers will help you to listen to media effortlessly.
The 10.1-inch model of the Honor Pad 5 features Kirin 659 processor, which is slower than the Kirin 710 chipset included with the smaller counterpart. While the 3GB RAM model offers 32GB storage, the 4GB RAM comes with 64GB internal storage.
Even though the display bears an FHD panel, the tablet runs on EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo operating platform. The 8-inch model offers Android 9.0 Pie, which is new.
Talking about the price, the 8-inch Honor Pad 5 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage will cost Rs 16000. The 4GB RAM coupled with 64GB storage is priced at Rs 18000. If you would like to invest for the 10.1-inch model, you need to shell out Rs 17000 and Rs 19000 for the 3GB and 4GB RAM variants. The newly launched tablets will be available on Flipkart starting July 2019.
We would suggest you to invest for the 8-inch model since there is no scope for the 10.1-inch variant with the outdated processor and operating platform. You won’t get updates as in the smartphones and hence you have to be careful while buying the tablet.
