WhatsApp has rolled out the frequently forwarded messages functionality on Android and iOS platforms. The main purpose of the feature is to enable users to know whether the messages have been forwarded over five times. You will be able to experience this feature if you have installed the latest version of WhatsApp.
Commenting on the development, WhatsApp sources revealed that the forwarded message label has been updated to enable people to identify whether the relevant message has been forwarded more than five times.
The forwarded messages can be identified with a double arrow icon. Moreover, users will receive a notification when they are proceeding to forward a message more than five times. The company sources also added that this feature has been in the testing phase since April.
WhatsApp has come under heavy Government scrutiny with the increase of mob violence in India. There were reports that people go into the violent mode based on the messages delivered via WhatsApp. Moreover, the circulation of false test messages and provocative content were on the rise leading to nightmare. The Government noticed this fact and ask the messaging company to regulate the app with new features.
In addition to the frequently forwarded feature, the company is also gearing up to launch WhatsApp Pay by the end of 2019. The WhatsApp Pay mechanism will help you to pay for the various services from within the messaging platform.
