Microsoft to unveil new Surface devices on October 2 with foldable dual screen

Microsoft is scheduled to hold an exclusive event in New York on October 2 to launch the next-generation Surface laptops with foldable dual screen. According to reports, the Redmond-based software giant will unveil a new series of Surface Laptop and Surface Book devices paired with foldable dual screen. You can also expect the launch of Surface Pro 7, which will set new benchmarks in the computing industry.

The new Surface devices with foldable dual screen will be codenamed as Centaurus. There are reports that the prototype of the Centaurus was showcased to the employees at an internal meeting. Even though the company will announce the launch of the new devices, the exact availability will be around 2020. That said, the upcoming Surface devices will be powered by Intel Lakefield processor coupled with Windows 10 Lite operating platform.

Microsoft will also launch the much-anticipated Surface Go 2 alongside the foldable dual screen Surface devices. The company is planning to integrate new features including integration of advanced processors and much more. The launch of new Surface devices assumes great significance since the company is looking forward to compete with Apple iPad devices.

The Microsoft Surface Go is equipped with a 10-inch PixelSense display, Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y processor, Intel Integrated HD 615 graphics processor, 8GB RAM, 64GB/128GB eMMC storage capacity loaded with Windows 10 Home in S mode. The laptop is capable of delivering up to 9 hours of video playback, which is sufficient for computing on the go and inside the airplane. The Surface Go measures 522 grams and is touted to be the lightest surface laptop released by Microsoft.
