Sony Xperia 8 with Dual Camera Launched: Features, Specifications and Availability

Sony has launched Sony Xperia 8 smartphone in Japan at 54000 Yen. The smartphone will be available in White, Black, Orange, and Blue color variants. We don’t have any idea as to when the handset will be available for sale outside Japan. We expect the launch of the device in the US followed by emerging countries like India.

The Sony Xperia 8 is equipped with a 6-inch IPS Triluminous FHD+ (21:9) Corning Gorilla Glass 6 display with a resolution of 2520×1080 pixels, Snapdragon 630 processor, 4GB RAM coupled with 64GB expandable internal storage.

The smartphone is pre-loaded with Xperia UI based on Android 9 Pie operating platform. The handset borrows power via the embedded 2760mAh battery. The company claims that the battery won’t show any decrease in power even after two years of use.

The rear side features a dual camera comprising of 12MP (f/1.8 aperture) primary sensor coupled with an 8MP (f/2.4 aperture) depth sensor. The camera offers advanced features such as 2x optical zoom alongside 13 types of scene recognition.

The smartphone also provides support for capturing 4K video shooting with EIS. Moreover, you will be able to shoot slow-motion videos in 120fps, which is higher when compared with other competing smartphones.

On the front, the Sony Xperia 8 carries an 8MP camera with support for portrait selfie. The handset is also resistant to water via IPX5/X8 and dust via IPX6 technologies respectively. With a weight of 170 grams, the Sony Xperia 8 measures 8.1mm in thickness.

In addition to 4G VoLTE, Sony Xperia 8 provides support for Bluetooth, NFC, LDAC ncluding a traditional headphone port. The addition of a USB-C port helps you to charge the device quickly. The integration of DSEE HX Digital Sound Enhancement Engine helps you to experience an awesome audio experience. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor helps you to unlock the device quickly.
