Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro Launched: Everything you need to know

Xiaomi has launched the much-awaited Redmi Note 8 Pro at a launch event held in New Delhi on October 17. The main highlight of the Redmi Note 8 Pro is the integration of Amazon Alexa using which you can fetch answers to queries. The Amazon Alexa is in addition to the already available Google Assistant. Moreover, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is equipped with a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with HDR support.

The 64MP camera ships with a 1/1.7-inch Samsung GW1 Sensor with ISOCELL Plus technology. You will be able to experience high color fidelity with up to 15 percent enhancement in light sensitivity. The Smart ISO paired with Dual Conversion Gain (DCG) technology is capable of adjusting the ISo sensitivity intelligently based on the ambient light.

Redmi Note 8 Pro Specifications

The Redmi Note 8 Pro features a6.53-inch FHD+ Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protected display, MediaTek Helio G90T processor, 6GB/8GB RAM, 64GB/128GB UFS 2.1 expandable internal storage loaded with MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie operating platform. The handset will receive MIUI 11 by the end of 2019.

The chipset is designed using a 12nm manufacturing process. The 6GB RAM variant offers 64GB and 128GB storage, while the 8GB RAM offers 128GB storage. You will be able to extend the storage up to 256GB via microSD card.

Redmi Note 8 Pro camera

The rear side features a 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor with support for f/1.8 aperture, LED Flash, EIS coupled with an 8MP, 2MP depth, and 2MP sensors respectively. The 8MP secondary sensor offers a 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens paired with an f/2.4 aperture for the 2MP sensor. On the front, the Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a 20MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth including 4G VoLTE and USB Type-C port. The device also includes a fingerprint/IR sensor alongside a traditional headphone port. The handset also provides support for Amazon Alexa.

The company sources revealed that the Note 8 Pro is the first smartphone in India to ship with Amazon Alexa. The smartphone is also resistant to splashes via IP52 technology. The phone borrows power via the embedded 4500mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

Redmi Note 8 Pro pricing

The 6GB RAM variant with 64GB storage is priced at Rs 14999, while the 6GB RAM option with 28GB storage will cost Rs 15999. The premium 8GB RAM model with 128GB storage will cost Rs 17999. The smartphone will be available starting October 21 on Amazon India and Mi India. As part of the launch offer, Xiaomi has tiped up with Airtel to offer double data for 10 months on recharge of Rs 249 and Rs 349.
