Microsoft Refreshes Cortana For Windows 10 20H1 Build

Microsoft has refreshed Cortana voice assistant for users running Windows 10 20H1 version on their PCs. According to news reports, Microsoft has released Cortana Beta version 2.1912.18729.0 for Windows 10 20H1 version with several new features.

The newly released Cortana Beta version 2.1912.18729.0 brings in suggested tasks functionality, where the activities are divided into three sub-categories such as Found, Active and History. Microsoft also introduced an ability to activate Cortana simply by saying its name in PCs loaded with Windows 10 20H1. However, you can’t set your own wake word as with Amazon Alexa. Microsoft has integrated a responsive hamburger menu with the Cortana Beta to provide a compelling user experience.

The interesting point to note is that Microsoft has terminated support of Cortana Beta for older versions of Windows 10. You will be able to download and install Cortana Beta only on Windows 10 systems running Build 19023 or higher. It remains to be seen as to whether the Redmond-based software giant will provide support for languages other than US-English.

In the past, the Windows manufacturer had removed Android integration and timer functionality. The addition of new features is a positive sign and will set new benchmarks in the voice assistant segment.
