The main reason for the decision to conduct live streaming is to reduce exposure risk to Coronavirus COVID-19 for their Mi Fans, partners, Xiaomi employees, bloggers, and media friends. During on-ground launch events, people used to network with each other and shake hands. This will result in possible infections. With the online event, people can sit under the comforts of their home and office to watch the features and specifications of the new devices.

According to Xiaomi, reports of community spread are coming in from various parts of the world. There are also instances of asymptomatic carriers, which means a person could be a carrier of the virus without exhibiting any symptoms of the flu. The company operates under abundant caution and its aim is to help the community from any health problems.

Manu added that the Redmi Note series has seen some of the biggest product launches in India with thousands of people attending. The team ha always cherished the launches and the time spent with Mi Fans including media friends. The company will issue another update regarding future launches by the end of March.

The Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro will launch on March 12 at 12 PM. You can watch the live stream on Mi.com and social media handles.
