Apple iPhone 9 rumored to launch on April 15

If rumors are to be believed, Apple is expected to unveil Apple iPhone 9 on April 15. The popular tipster Jon Prosser took to Twitter and revealed that Apple is preparing to release iPhone 9 in April as per an internal meeting. We are unable to believe this was because Apple offices are closed in Silicon Valley and how come they conducted an internal meeting.

As per Proser’s tweet, the iPhone 9 will launch on April 15 followed by shipments starting on April 22. Prosser had warned bout the COVID-19 pandemic and hence the date is liable to change. He also asks customers to keep the fingers crossed.

The upcoming iPhone 9 is touted to be the successor to the iPhone SE launched in 2016. The launch could be delayed because of the COVID-19 outbreak. With the whole of California in lockdown mode, the chances of the company launching iPhone 9 are bleak.

That being said, the upcoming iPhone 9 could launch via an online event. The company will not conduct a physical event due to the alarming health crisis. If the company is unable to conduct an online event due to the California lockdown, then the company will probably release a press release with the list of features and specifications.

According to rumors, the upcoming iPhone will feature a large display without any bezels. You will also find a physical and capacitive Touch ID sensor on the front below the display. the upcoming iPhone 9 will ship with a higher RAM and storage will crank up to 256GB. The device will most likely offer quad cameras on the rear, while the front-facing camera will carry a sensor to shoot selfies with AI technology.

Talking about the pricing, the iPhone 9 will start at $349 for the default model and will shoot up to $399. You can expect several color variants depending upon the carrier. If Apple launches the 9th iteration of the iPhone series on April 15, then you can expect the launch in India after 10 to 15 days. Google is also planning to release Pixel 4a, which will directly compete with the forthcoming iPhone 9.
