Establishing connectivity
To work with this new functionality, you should pair the Surface Earbuds via Bluetooth in the Surface Audio app for Windows. You should then press the F5 button to start the presentation. You can also navigate to Slide Show | From Beginning to control PowerPoint presentations. You should right-click on the slide from within the Slide Show mode. Finally, you need to choose “Use Gestures to Control Presentation” option under Surface Earbuds settings. Microsoft Office will automatically remember the setting for all the future presentations.
Managing PowerPoint Presentations
To manage PowerPoint presentations using Surface Earbuds, you just need to swipe forward and backward on the left earbud. You can double-tap to play or pause videos that are integrated in your PowerPoint presentation. If you are unable to view the option for settings in slide show, you should make sure that you have paired your earbuds via the Surface Audio app.
You should try to locate LE Surface Earbuds under “Other devices” section of “Windows Bluetooth & other devices” settings. You need not have to place the Surface Earbuds in your ears to manage PowerPoint presentations using gestures support. You can only control the presentations using left earbuds.
You should note that you will not be able to hear system audio while making use of the Earbuds to manage presentations. However, you can hear system audio by disabling the feature by right-clicking on a slide while in Slide Show mode.
