Vodafone Idea has started to offer cellular service for Apple Watch (GPS + Cellular) starting on June 12, 2020. This will enable customers the freedom to leave their smartphone behind and stay connected with their loved ones using Apple Watch. In a statement released to the press, the company disclosed that service is available for Vodafone Postpaid customers including Enterprise Postpaid in Delhi, Gujarat, and Mumbai starting June 12, 2020. The service will be available in other regions within the next few weeks.
Apple Watch (GPS+Cellular) with Vodafone Idea enables them to stay connected, perform calls including streaming Apple Music even without iPhone. This will help you to be active throughout the day.
Commenting on the launch, Avneesh Khosla, Marketing Director, Vodafone Idea disclosed that consumers are increasingly moving towards to make use of the connected products in their lives. He added that customers will be able to connect their Apple Watch to their iPhone using the same or existing mobile number. Moreover, customers will be able to enjoy the freedom of working with their Apple Watch independently to stay connected.
To work with the service, you should first update iPhone to latest OS. The next step is to open the Watch app on your iPhone and start the pairing process of Apple Watch and iPhone. You should sign in with your Apple ID and password to continue.
You should tap “Setup Mobile Data” to share your Postpaid number and plan with Apple Watch. The next step is to enter your Vodafone postpaid number and self-care password. As soon as the login is successful, you should Confirm. The Vodafone Idea service will get activated within 30 minutes on the second confirmation. You should note that enterprise postpaid customers need prior confirmation from their Authorised signatory to set up the service.
