Windows 10 Print Bug Update

Microsoft Pushes Windows 10 Print Bug Update

Microsoft has started to roll out Windows 10 Print Bug Update globally. The update resolves a bug associated with the printing of the documents. If you are facing issues with the printing of the documents, then the problem would have been resolved by now if you had properly installed the latest Windows 10 Print Bug Update.

The Redmond-based software giant has released Windows 10 Print Bug Update to resolve the printing issues for versions 1909, 1903, and 1803. However, the company is yet to push any update for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 versions 1507, 1607, and 2004.

The Windows 10 Print Bug Update via KB4567512 addresses an issue that might prevent certain printers from printing properly. The print spooler might generate either an error or close unexpectedly when attempting to print. People have reported that they are unable to receive any output from the affected printer. There are also issues with the apps that you are attempting to print from, which includes receiving an error or the unexpected closure of the app. This problem could also affect software-based printers including printing to PDF.

Microsoft has issued advisory for those users who are affected by the print bug problem. Imagine, you establish connectivity with a USB printer to Windows 10 version 1903 or later and shut down Windows. You also shut off the printer before going to sleep. However, if you start Windows 10 again in the morning, Windows will not detect the USB printer port. You will not be able to find the printer ports on the list. Hence, Windows 10 will not be able to complete any task that requires that specific port.

According to Microsoft, if the driver for the USB printer includes a Language Monitor, the OpenPortEx callback function of the Language Monitor would not be called. Hence, you will not be able to fulfill operations that are dependant on the operation of the Language Monitor.

If you navigate to the Devices and Printers module on the control panel and select Print Server Properties | Port tab, you will not be able to locate the port for the USB printer under the list of printer ports. Hence, Windows 10 will not be able to print the documents as before unless you installed Windows 10 Print Bug Update.

If you recently installed the latest Windows 10 update, you should check for the presence of the printer port as described above. If you are unable to find the port name, then you should have not installed the Windows 10 Print Bug Update. You should also check for the cartridge levels by navigating to the printer program installed on the system. You should also try printing from another PC or via Android smartphone if the printer supports wireless mode.
