Microsoft Teams Gets Better With New Feature To Outplay Zoom

Microsoft has issued a series of new updates to its flagship Microsoft Teams video conferencing platform. With the addition of new features, Microsoft Teams has given Zoom a severe blow. Zoom will have to come out of something special now to compete with Microsoft Teams. The new features are added to make work from home (WFH) easier.

Image feature

Microsoft has added several improvements to teams on both Android and iPhone devices. You will be able to upload images to your gallery including the ability to search inside chats and channels on Android. The Microsoft Teams Android app enables you to generate links for free meeting invitations, which you can send to those people who don’t have a Teams account. The platform also added a new Safe key setting.

Increased participants

If you are working with Microsoft Teams on iPhone, the upgraded version 2.0.19 enables you to view eight participants on an iPhone and nine on an iPad. Moreover, the Grid view has been refreshed with new look and feel. While the dimension of the Teams on iPhone will be 2×4, the iPad gets 3×3 dimension squares. Moreover, the iOS update helps you to view an agenda view of upcoming meetings that can be shared with the user’s contacts.

Data restriction

The iOS app also adds a new setting, which reduces the amount of data Teams make use of while the relevant video is activated. This feature will be useful for those people whose mobile providers have imposed daily FUPs. Microsoft also confirmed that Cortana will be made available on iOS for US users of Microsoft Teams. The new features will be rolled out in a phased manner.

Microsoft Teams will provide an ability to customize the left sidebar, which enables you to rearrange, pin, and unpin your apps. The Advanced Communications feature enables businesses to conduct meetings with up to 20000 participants in view-only mode with up to 1000 interactive meetings.

Microsoft teams also provide an opportunity to make use of your own logo or picture as a background. The Teams platform also ships with multiple custom backgrounds. Meanwhile, Zoom has enhanced the app with noise cancellation functionality. Even though Zoom is highly capable app, privacy and security are a matter of concern. There have been instances of Zoom bombing, where unknown persons would appear during video conference calls.
