Microsoft has rolled out Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19042.508 (20H2) to Windows Insiders in the Beta channel. According to Microsoft, the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19042.508 is currently available to customers in the Beta channel including Release Preview channel for pre-release validation purposes.
The Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19042.508 has fixed an issue related to a possible elevation of privilege in windowmanagement.dll. The latest update has resolved a security vulnerability issue associated with user proxies and HTTP-based Intranet servers. The HTTP-based Intranet servers will not be able to leverage a user proxy by default to detect updates.
You should configure the behavior with the help of the Windows Update policy if you leverage a user proxy. However, this change won’t affect customers who have secured their Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) servers with the Transport Layer Security (TLS) or Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocols.
The Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19042.508 also includes security updates to Windows App platform and frameworks including Microsoft graphics Component, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Shell, Windows Media, Windows Cloud Infrastructure, Windows Management, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Virtualization, Windows Kernel, Microsoft JET database engine, and Windows Storage and Filesystems.
If you are part of the beta channel Windows Insiders group, you will be able to download Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19042.508. You should note that the update will ship with bugs and hence you should not install in a production system.
