Flipkart Launchpad Internship Program Aims to Train Students in Supply Chain

Flipkart has launched Launchpad, which is a paid internship program for undergraduate students. The students are selected from Tier-II cities and are deployed to work in the supply chain department. The move is to add more workforce because of the upcoming Flipkart Big Billion Days sale. The Walmart-owned company is predicting huge sales from across India. The main purpose of the Flipkart LaunchPad program is to enable interns to gain critical skills in supply chain management. Moreover, the intern system will create an ecosystem of trained professionals for the Indian e-commerce segment.

Commenting on the development, Flipkart disclosed that the program is designed to shape India’s workforce in various essential supply chain roles. This will enable them to create an ecosystem of qualified, trained, and skilled professionals in the long run. As part of the Flipkart Launchpad, students will be completely trained in various aspects of supply chain management with special focus on health and safety due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Responding to media, Amitesh Jha, Senior Vice President, Flipkart added that they are confident that the Flipkart Launchpad will provide engaging and immersive working experience during the upcoming Flipkart Big billion Days. We are confident that students will learn all the complicated processes involved with the supply chain and the knowledge they gain will be useful in the long run when they step out of the college.

According to Flipkart, interns should undergo mandatory thermal screening including social distancing guidelines. Moreover, the interns should install the Aarogya Setu app on their smartphones. The company is working with educational institutions across 21 locations to identify students for the Launchpad program.
