XBOX Game Bar Task Manager

Microsoft Releases XBOX Game Bar Task Manager

Microsoft has released a new XBOX Game Bar Task Manager, which overlays on top while running games. The task manager will be useful if your PC is running slow and can free up resources. The Resources feature of the XBOX game bar was under the testing stage for Xbox Insiders.

You will be able to access the feature by Win+G keyboard shortcut. The XBOX Game Bar version 5.420.9252.0 is now available to all Windows 10 users via the Microsoft Store. The Game Bar will display a ‘What’s New – October’ message, which explains the steps required to use the new Resources task manager widget after installation.

According to the Xbox Gamebar 5.420.9252.0 release notes, the new Resources widget enables you to identify and manage those apps that make use of system resources such as CPU, GPU, RAM, and Disk. The widget will be very helpful for gamers since they need not have to leave the game to access the list of running processes. Moreover, they can tweak the performance of the game while playing.

If you select the Resources button, a dedicated Task Manager will open, which provides a list of all running applications and background processes. You will be able to find the resources used by each process in detail. If a particular process consumes too many resources and affects the performance of the game, then you can click on the “X” located adjacent to the process. This will terminate the process which consumes plenty of RAM and other resources.

Like in the case of all other updates, the Xbox Gamebar 5.420.9252.0 is being rolled out in a gradual manner. Hence, it will take few days for the fresh update to reach you. You can also provide feedback after testing the new Resources widget.
