Microsoft has rolled out Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19042.685 to the beta and release preview channel Windows Insiders. The update will be made available only for those Windows Insiders who are working with Windows 10 October 2020 20H2 update.
The Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19042.685 has resolved a security vulnerability that prevents applications that run as a SYSTEM account from printing to FILE: ports. You should run your applications or services as a specific user or service account to resolve the issue in the future. The latest preview build also includes updates to Microsoft Edge Legacy, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Media, Windows Fundamentals, and Windows Virtualization.
Microsoft also announced new ways to deploy servicing stack updates via WSUS. The organizations will be able to test new technology to enable deployment of cumulative and security updates including servicing stack updates. The administrators can easily deploy them together via a single package and have the clients plan the installations.
