In a blog post, Microsoft revealed that they have added the new improvements based on the feedback from Windows Insiders.
Microsoft has resolved multiple issues that impact the performance and reliability of the news and interests in Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 21292. If the news flyout would not dismiss by tapping outside the window or again on the Taskbar button, then the issue has been fixed. If the Taskbar button content was blurry, then the problem has been resolved. Moreover, if the fresh content was not displayed after toggling the background apps setting, then the issue has been fixed.

The latest update has resolved an issue where it was not possible to perform flyout navigation with the help of the Keyboard. If the news and interests taskbar would reset to display icon and text after updating to a new Windows version, then the problem has been resolved.
The news and interests on the Windows Taskbar enable you to have quick access to the latest headlines, weather including real-time traffic conditions. The Traffic card will display information about the traffic alerts, traffic cameras including traffic times between nearby cities with a bigger map experience. It is possible to change the location of the weather by clicking on the three dots on the Weather card and clicking Edit location.
If you click on the Weather card, you will be able to view an immersive weather experience with accurate forecasts on interactive animated maps. You will be able to understand the weather easily with timely news for severe weather events. If you select Weather card, you will view a full-page view of the weather with information about the current feels like temperature, wind, and humidity levels. The module will also display hourly predictions for the day’s temperature with chances of precipitation. The module also shows a quick view of the 10-day forecast, which will help you to plan the upcoming vacations.
The forecasts provided by the news and interests are powered by radar images that are well supported by social, spatial, and temporal data processed by deep learning. You can scroll down to view a rich and interactive map of predicted weather conditions over time in your locality, which is powered by Bing Maps and MSN Weather predictions. It is possible to modify the views and zoom in to your specific location to view animations over time of the temperature, precipitation, wind, and much more.
The news and interests module is currently available only to a small group of Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel. The purpose is to identify issues that could impact performance and reliability. The news and interests module is available only to Windows Insiders in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, and India. To work with this feature, you should install the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge web browser on your PC.
Microsoft is currently updating Sounds module inside System Settings to display a message when microphone permissions have been turned off for the whole system or all apps. The Sounds app will have a link to the microphone privacy settings page.
