Microsoft has rolled out Windows 10 Build 19042.804 (20H2) to beta and release preview channels. The update will be available only for those users who are running Windows 10 October 2020 build. The Windows 10 Build 19042.804 (20H2) is mainly a security update with quality improvements.

Microsoft has resolved a possible elevation of privilege vulnerability in the Win21K component. The Windows 10 Build 19042.804 has fixed an issue that could damage the file system of some devices including preventing them from starting up after running chkdsk/f.

The latest build has fixed a security vulnerability by preventing applications that run as a SYSTEM account from printing to “FILE:” ports. You should run applications or services as a specific user or service account to isolate this issue. The Windows 10 Build 19042.804 includes security updates to the Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Windows Apps, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Cloud Infrastructure, Windows Management, Windows Authentication, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Cryptography, Windows Virtualization, Windows Core Networking, and Windows Hybrid Cloud Networking.
